How to read risk metrics

Total / annual return: Total return shows how much portfolio value rose or fell in the selected range. Annual return scales the same result to one year; it can look exaggerated on short ranges, so read it with the number of data days.
Volatility: Measures how much daily returns deviate from the average, meaning how sharply the portfolio moves. High volatility means a wider range of good and bad days; it does not show direction by itself.
Sharpe: Shows how efficiently return was produced relative to total volatility; risk-free return is assumed to be 0 here. A higher positive value means better return for the same volatility; a negative value means the risk was not rewarded in the selected range.
Sortino: Similar to Sharpe, but only downside movement below the target is counted as risk. If Sharpe is low but Sortino is better, the portfolio may be volatile while much of that movement came from upside days.
Max drawdown: Shows the deepest drop from a peak to a later low in the selected range. It describes how much drawdown a user entering at a poor time may have needed to tolerate.
Calmar: Divides annual return by maximum drawdown and summarizes whether the return was worth the largest decline. A higher Calmar means cleaner recovery, but it can mislead on very short history or near-zero drawdown.
VaR / CVaR 95: VaR 95 estimates the loss threshold that roughly 95% of historical days should not exceed. CVaR shows the average loss on the worst days beyond that threshold and is more descriptive for tail risk.
Concentration: Summarizes whether portfolio weights are concentrated in a few assets using HHI and effective asset count. As the value rises, single-asset or narrow-group risk increases; lower concentration can reduce the impact of one asset.
